Dover Festival of Trees to be Held Dec. 6-8 at Noble’s Pond
Delaware Hospice will host its annual Dover Festival of Trees Dec. 6-8 in the Noble’s Pond ballroom. The annual event ushers in the holiday season, and features a spectacular display of decorated trees and wreaths, special events, a marketplace, bake shop and live entertainment. Proceeds raised benefit Delaware Hospice, and at the conclusion of the event, the trees and wreaths are donated to another nonprofit. www.delawarehospice.org
“Noble’s Pond is delighted to host this popular holiday event,” said Colleen Ostafy, lifestyle director at the 55+ Active Adult Community. “The trees and wreaths are decorated by professional artisans, and sponsored by local businesses and individuals. The residents of Noble’s Pond are sponsoring a tree in memory of Rae Short, who was a friend to many at Noble’s Pond and throughout the community. Rae worked for the Home Instead Senior Care Program of Delaware was like an ambassador of Dover. She attended every social event and every ribbon cutting. She always wore a red dress, and was especially involved at Christmastime collecting items for seniors. Our tree, in memory of Rae, will be all dressed in red, with a donation box to receive funds for the Home Instead program. Our residents are also preparing goodies for the bake sale, and look forward to welcoming the community to this eagerly-anticipated holiday event.”
